This month Lip Love celebrated Goddesses! Not the religious ones though.

I read somewhere that empowered women, empower women. And I truly believe this.

And this is regardless of the setting whether in the workplace or the home front. An empowered housewife will empower her daughter of her daughter – in – law.

An empowered woman boss will empower her subordinate. When I look into my personal life I truly see this.

On the one hand I see my mother in law. She got married to my father – in – law at the tender age of 16.

How much do you really know about life at 16? Your husband then becomes your whole life and education takes a back seat.

But look at the repercussions in her life. All her life she has had to be dependent on her husband for everything.

Financially, emotionally every way. What would happen if he left her?

She has a son but the son too has his own life, so after the husband the son becomes the whole focus? Then what happens to the son’s life?

She has not been empowered a single day in her life. Hence she doesn’t empower me!

Not that I need her permission or her validation to be empowered! Coming from a different family, with a much higher level of education and a successful career I don’t succumb to her non empowerment.

And that’s the problem  in our relationship. The fact that I don’t succumb.

Some people might call it a generational gap! On the other hand I have my boss.

Also a woman. Shes empowered and doesn’t hold back on empowering me.

I owe a lot of my career success to her. Was it not for her, I would not get many opportunities or visibility.

This blog seems to have gone off on another tangent 😉 Coming back to this month’s Lip Love Bag.

Lip Love was doing make up bags in canvas with whimsical (almost juvenile!) prints though philosophical quotes. This time they seemed to be targeting a more mature audience.

From January I notice that they’ve changed the concept of the bag a bit. They still do the philosophical quote or statement, what with ‘Dream Big, Dare Greatly’ last month and ‘I Only Roll With Goddesses’  this month but they have changed up the print and the material of the bag.

There’s a motif on the bag much like last month. This time faces of women in pink against a white background.

The material is a kind of thick-ish faux leather as compared to the canvas though frankly that was quite interesting! Across the print are the words ‘I Only Roll With Goddesses.’

Have a look at the bag below:

Now lets have a look at the products I received:

  1. Skinsider | Highlighter Pallete |So Susan | $42.00
Image result for skinsider highlighter palette

I’m not one for highlighters but I was still very excited to receive this product!I love the packaging of it.

Its so sleek and black and slim. I also love the colors, I feel the pans are too small too dip in for highlighting and I wonder if they can be doubled up as eye shadows.

It comes with a good sized built in mirror and has its own sponge applicator. Nine beautiful, shimmery shades with awesome pigmentation.

2. Liptensity Hydrating Lip Gloss| Jelly Pong Pong | In the shade ‘Curiousity’ | $14.00

Image result for jelly pong pong liptensity

I don’t like these lip glosses at all. First off, they have a wierd detergent like smell.

Then the formula is patchy and does not apply evenly. It’s well pigmented and has good shine.

But that not enough for me.

3. Lip Pout | In the shade ‘Social Butterfly’ | So Susan | $19.00

So-Susan-March-2017-0014

These lipsticks are quite interesting for me. First of all the casing is made out of paper.

And then they have a whimsical print! The name of the shade also doesn’t give away the color.

4.Cheek Parfait | In the shade ‘Marmalade’ | Trifle Cosmetics | $23.00

Image result for cheek parfait

This product has good pigmentation and I love the color as well. I think the color should work for all skin tones.

Again the problem that I have with it is the packaging. Why is it so juvenile?!

If I was to purchase this product from a store I would not purchase it due to the packaging alone! The outer part is still okay but the eye shadow pack itself is like toy/dolls makeup.

Is this product targeted at tweens? If Trifle Cosmetics ever reads this, then please know this is the only angst I have with your products.

Or let me know if I am not the target audience. Anyway, the total value of this bag totals to $116/- only.

And that’s my review. I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Today I have reached the magic number of 22 followers. Thank you if you helped me reach this number.

Help me reach my new target of 25 followers please. Like, comment, share and subscribe to this blog.

Thank you for your time and remember to be kind to yourself ‘coz there’s no one like you.

Much Love!

Hello Glamazons!

Today we will be reviewing the So Susan Lip Love Beauty Subscription bag for January,2017. Lip Love is a beauty subscription service which ships worldwide.

The Lip Love bag  comes at a subscription fee of $20.95 (USD) per month. That works out to roughly Rs. 1,421/- only per month.

This price includes the cost of shipping. For the price of $21/- (almost) only you get 4-5 whimsically packaged products in a very pretty and whimsical canvas makeup bag.

Lip Love is a beauty subscription bag managed by So Susan Cosmetics so they decides on your products for the month. No need to fill a preference questionnaire.

Typically the products you receive are : eye shadows, mascaras, lip gloss or a lipstick etc. This month Lip Love celebrated dreamers.

Here I am reminded of a quote by T.E Lawrence. It goes “All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.”

The theme of this months Lip Love bag is very related. It says Dream Big Dare Greatly which basically means that t dont limit your dreams or your imaginations.

And once you have dream it, chase the dream and make it a reality. Dare to dream care to achieve!

Even if people laugh at your dream let the, don’t deter from your path. Once the dream is achieved, you just might be the person having the last laugh!

Back to the bag now. This month Lip Love changed up their bags.

They usually do canvas bags with whimsical prints however this time, it was a plasticy, rexine material and also gone was the whimisical prints and quotes. This time they seemed to be targeting a more mature audience.

The bag itself is a lovely orange with prints f a tiger, cheetah and a zebra in white. Across all of this are oriented the words Dream Big Dare Greatly.

Have a look at the bag below.

Now lets have a loom at  products I received:

  1. Lip Pout | In the shade ‘Parrots” | Sp Susan | $18.95 | This is a pretty pink lipstick with a buttery consistency. This is So Susan’s own product and like the Lip Butters by Jelly Pong Pong, this range of lipstick also come in cases made of paper.

They also have a colorful, whimsical print and names that dont give out the shade. With a name like parrots the use is left guessing what the color could possibly be.

Green?! Have a look at the lipstick below:

2. Liptensity | In the shade ‘Intensity’| Jelly Pong Pong | $19.95 | This is a bold lip gloss that packs a good amount of shine and a lot of pigment! This formula is very creamy and moisturizing.

The shade is a gorgeous bright pink. and has a floral fragrance. Below is a pic of the lip gloss.

3. Liquid Glow | Trifle Cosmetics | $19.95 | This product is actually of no use to me nonetheless, according to Trifle cosmetics just a touch of this of this liquid luminizer is enough to give your complexion a boom of rosy brilliance.

It contains cocoa extract to hydrate the skin and make it softer. You are supposed to use your ring finger dot onto you cheekbones, brow bones and cupids bow for a boost of ethereal glow.

Have a look at the cute, whimsical packaging below.

Liquid glow | Image courtesy thebeautyspyglass.com

4.Dream Pallette | In the shade ‘Midnight Ride’ | Jelly Pong Pong | $19.95 | This product is an antioxidant-rich eye shadow palette with a luxurious airy texture.

It not only moisturizes and melts onto the skin, but also makes your shadows last longer. This little eyeshadow palette is stunning!

Have a look at the pic below:

I love eyeshadow so easily this is the most favorite product out of the bag. However, I received mine broken and there’s powder all over!

I would have exchanged it but I think its expensive to send back so I’ll keep it. However, it will be nice to know how responsive Lip Love is so maybe I will write and report this.

The total value of this bag totals to $90.80/- only. I love the tag line of So Susan as a brand its:

Skincare.Colour.Performance

And that’s my review. I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Below is a list of the products I received :

  1. Neapolitan Palette |Eye Shadow Palette |Jelly Pong Pong | 3 gms
  2. Tarte | Lip Surgence Lip Creme | In the shade ‘Wonder’
  3. Ciate London | Paintpot | 13.5 ml| In the shade ‘Spinning Tea Cups’
  4. Jersey Shore Sun| Mongongo |Nutrient dense anti aging lip conditioner
  5. Symphony Beauty | Make up cleansing wipes | 10 wipes | Moisturize | Cucumber and Aloe Vera

Total calculated value: Unavailable since prices are not mentioned. Like the Lip Monthly, Ipsy sends a different designed bag every month.

The August,2016 theme was ‘Sugar Highness’ , the bag itself has a pretty girl who seems to be getting her make up done. She has lavender hair and mascara and lip gloss is being applied to her.

Her head band is made of an assortment of make up items. This month, there were two versions of this bag.

I got the lavendar one but there also a sea foam green version. The bag has a pretty baby pink lining.

My favorite product in this bag is the Symphony Beauty | Make up cleansing wipes | Moisturize | Cucumber and Aloe Vera

Lets dive into each of the products now:

Neapolitan Palette |Eye Shadow Palette |Jelly Pong Pong | 3 gms

If you’ve been reading my blog regularly you’d know that I love eye shadow. This is a eye shadow trio and again very safe colors.

img_0385

I prefer pops of colors. It seems to be shimmery and I will be trying it out very soon.

img_0386
Neopolitan pallete | Trio

Its really tiny and compact and with these three colors a lot of looks can be achieved so that good.

Tarte | Lip Surgence Lip Creme | In the shade ‘Wonder’

img_0387

I don’t own anything by  Tarte so that great that I get to sample this brand. Though I have to say that the product size is very small.

img_0388

If I use this regularly I might be able to use it for about three months. Its a lovely tomato red and very creamy lip crayon.

img_0389
Swatch | Lip Surgence in ‘Wonder’

Ciate London | Paintpot | 13.5 ml| In the shade ‘Spinning Tea Cups’

img_0390

I have been seeing this nail polish for forever and I am very glad I received it.I have to say a subscription bag is a great way to sample different brands in very less money.

img_0393
Swatch | 2 coats of Spinning Tea Cups

I love the name of the shade ‘Spinning Tea Cups’ it a lovely lavender. I guess to match the bag that it came in.

Jersey Shore Sun| Mongongo |Nutrient dense anti aging lip conditioner

img_0391

This is a chap stick. I usually use it over a lip liner to bring out the color.

I’ve been using the Maybelline New York Baby Lips which will get over very soon. I’ll replace this with that

The last product in my Ipsy bag is :

Symphony Beauty | Make up cleansing wipes | 10 wipes | Moisturize | Cucumber and Aloe Vera

img_0392

I really liked this product and frankly speaking feel that it deserves its own review! I have been able to remove a full face of make up with it.

Foundation, lipstick, mascara eyeliner everything. Its got a lovely fragrance and the wipes themselves have a textured feel.

I will be purchasing this however in a 30 sheet pack. And that’s my review.

I hope you enjoyed reading this.Thank you for your time and remember to be kind to yourself ‘coz there’s no one like you.

Fango Essenziali | Moisturize sheet mask

IMG_0275

Hello my Beauties!

Today I will be reviewing , The Fango Essenziali Moisturize sheet mask.  I received it in my July,2016 Glossy Box.

The mask comes in a green packet and I have one sheet mask which is 25 ml. This typically retails for $7/- (USD).

Approximately Rs.466/- only. This is the full size, sheet mask.

The website states: “……Thirsty, parched skin is refreshed and renewed with Fango Essenziali’s Moisturize sheet mask. A special cocktail of skin soothing ingredients- avocado, kelp and acai berry to hydrate, nourish and restore even the driest, most sensitive skin. ”

I can easily say that this is my new best friend. Its perfect to use alone or in between mud treatments.

A remedy for parched, dry skin. It helps to nourish and deeply moisturize.

It contains:

Avocado : To nourish and condition skin for a youthful glow.

Kelp extract : To aid in skin regeneration &rejuvenation.

Acai berry: A powerful antioxidant that’s ideal for tired skin.

Though this face mask is recommended for dry skin, its good to use on oily skin as well. After all oily skin needs moisture too!

The product is paraben free and is clinically and allergy tested. The mask intensely moisturizes and hydrates due to the blend of  avocado, kelp and acai berry.

The acai berry in it is not only a great anti oxidant but also doubles as an anti aging agent.

You can upgrade this masks potential by:

  1. Cleansing the skin
  2. Remove the white protective sheet on the mask.
  3. Place the mask on the face
  4. Remove the clear film
  5. Adjust and smooth out mask to ensure good contact
  6. Leave on for 5 to 25 minutes (As per instructions on the pack; I kept it on for 15 minutes)
  7. Remove the mask and massage excess serum into the face for maximum benefits.

So head band on, make up off lets apply this baby to the face! First things first its got an amazing fragrance.

The mask doesn’t dry off as such due to its moisture content. After I finished with the face I placed the bunched up mask on my closed lips to get rid of dry skin on my lips.

You don’t need to wash this mask of. Whatever was left in the pack I rubbed it into my neck as well.

And once I was done, it left my face smooth and refreshed.

So that’s it from me. Thank you for reading.

Please like, comment, subscribe and share this blog with your friends and loved ones. And always, be kind to yourself ‘coz there’s no one like you!
Mwah!!
Love,

Glossy Box | July,2016

IMG_0266

Hello My Beauties!

Today we will be reviewing the Glossy Box for July,2016. Glossy Box is a beauty subscription service which does not currently ship worldwide.

If you wanna know how to get it like and leave a comment on my blog and I’ll tell you how I got mine. The Glossy Box  comes at a subscription fee of $21 (USD) per month.

IMG_0267

That works out to roughly Rs. 1,410/- only per month. I also paid shipping so I did end up paying Rs.2,820/- only.

For the price of $21/- only you get a total of 6 products in a very pretty pink box. Glossy decides on your products for the month, based on a questionnaire that you fill with your preferences.

They ask you things like, would you prefer an eye shadow or a mascara? A lip gloss or a lipstick ?

A hair care product or a skin care products. As compared to the Ipsy Bag, a Glossy Box is a higher end beauty subscription service, theres a marked difference in the kind and size of products you get.

It ships out by the 10th of every month, you receive a tracking number with the shipment details, and can track it on every step of the way.Have a look at the pretty box it came in:

The Information Card: The info card is folded up and includes a small section with  description of each product.

IMG_0268

Back of the info card: Gives a sneak peek of next months box

IMG_0269

Below is a list of the products I received :

  1. Nuxe| Shimmering Huile Prodigious | 100 ml
  2. Leighton Denny Expert Nails | Miracle Mist | 75 ml
  3. Too Faced | Melted liquefied long wear lipstick | In the shade ‘Chihuahua’| 5 ml
  4. Fango Essenziali | Moisture treatment sheet mask | One mask | 25 ml
  5. Eyeko | Fat Stick in Satin | 1 piece | 4 gms
  6. Glov| Glov Quick Treat | 1 piece

Total calculated value: $115 (USD) only. The box pays for itslef 5.5 times over.

The box has a black pink lining with the Glossy Box logo printed on it. This is my first time receiving this subscription box and I am pretty happy with it.

Let’s dive into each of the products now:

Nuxe| Shimmering Huile Prodigious

IMG_0270.JPG

Translated to english this means greatly shimmering oil. This is a multi purpose oil and can be used on the face, body and hair.

The information card describes it as “……exceptional concentration of 6 botanical oils and vitamin E, this shimmering quickly absorbed treatment nourishes, softens and enhances……in a single step.”

Leighton Denny Expert Nails | Miracle Mist

IMG_0271

I found this product to be very interesting and might do a review on it soon. This spray apparently speeds up the drying process of the nail polish and makes it smudge proof.

It keeps your manicure intact. The instructions on the card says to spray directly on to nails from a distance of 15 cms for 2 to 3 seconds.

Too Faced | Melted liquefied long wear lipstick | In the shade ‘Chihuahua’| 5 ml

IMG_0272

This is a beautiful brownish – mauvish pink liquid lipstick. The tube itself has a velvet tip applicator for even distribution and application.

IMG_0274

This product combines “……the lasting power of a stain, the intense color of a lipstick and the high shine of a gloss in one product.” The velvet tip applicator is enough, no brush is required to apply this lipstick.

IMG_0273

Fango Essenziali | Moisture treatment sheet mask | One mask

IMG_0275

For those who read my blog regularly you will know that I love face masks!  This product too deserves a separate review.

This product claims that it will make your face glow. It restores moisture to the most sensitive skin.

Eyeko | Fat Stick in Satin | 1 piece

IMG_0276

My second love is in this box. It goes to show how well Glossy Box follows the beauty profile that you enter on starting the subscription.

IMG_0277

This is the Eyeko Fat Stick in Satin the shade it comes in is Taupe. This is an eye shadow stick.

I need to see how it performs. I received a ‘Be A Bombshell’ Eye crayon and that was horrible!

It creased and moved like you will not believe! I hope this one glides on and sets.

Glov| Glov Quick Treat | 1 piece

IMG_0278

This is also a very interesting make up tool. This is a make up remover which uses only water!

IMG_0279

I usually alternate Spongysal foaming wash and Cetaphil Skin Cleanser on my face however I find that Cetaphil while great for the skin doesn’t completely remove my makeup. I usually have to follow up with a toner to get the rest of the make up.

This product seems to be a very good option to remove makeup and seems to be easy to maintain. It fits perfectly on the finger and will be easy to remove makeup.

And that’s my review.I hope you enjoyed reading this.

Thank you for your time and remember to be kind to yourself ‘coz there’s no one like you. Please like, comment and share this blog with your loved ones.

Much Love!

Hot Summer Nights | Ipsy Glam Bag

Hello My Beauties!

Today we will be reviewing the Ipsy Glam Bag for July,2016. Ipsy Glam Bag is a beauty subscription service which does not currently ship worldwide.

If you wanna know how to get it like and leave a comment on my blog and I’ll tell you how I got mine. The Ipsy Glam Bag comes at a subscription fee of $10 (USD) per month.

To get off the waiting list, you need to use at least 2 of your social media handles to tell the world that you are off the Ipsy Glam Bag waiting list. I think that’s a very smart social media strategy!

As you can see below, much like the Lip Monthly which came in a beautiful gold, bubble wrap lined envelope, the Ipsy Glam Bag comes in a lovely magenta colored, bubble wrap lined envelope.

Below is a list of the products I received :

  1. Meet Matt(e) Trimony | The Balm Cosmetics| Eye shadow single in the shade ‘Matte Kumar’ | 0.5 gms (I got two of these)
  2. Luxie | 215, small angled brush
  3. Trestique | Mini highlight stick in the shade Maldive Luminiscent | 1.1 gm
  4. Palmetto Derma|Rejuvenating anti oxidant mask | 10 ml

Total calculated value: Unavailable since prices are not mentioned. The eye shadow single is a free sample anyway.

Like the Lip Monthly, Ipsy sends a different designed bag every month. Since their July,2016 theme was ‘Hot Summer Nights’, the bag itself looks like an arial view of the beach with sun umbrellas on an iridescent, silver beach.

The bag has a pretty baby pink lining and a tag inside that says Made In China. This is my first time subscription and I am pretty happy with it though I have to say the product sizes are really small.

The only full size product was the brush! Anyway, lets dive into each of the products now:

Meet Matt(e) Trimony | The Balm Cosmetics| Eye shadow single in the shade ‘Matte Kumar’

Even though this was just a sample size I was most excited about this product! I love eye shadow and don’t own anything from The Balm

IMG_0103
Meet Matt(e) Trimony | The Balm Cosmetics

Given a choice I would not buy this pallette as the colors is too stade and boring. I like pops of colors.

IMG_0104
Meet Matt(e) Trimony | Matte Kumar

Plus matte is not my favorite variation of eye shadow. I much prefer a shimmery style.

IMG_0113
Swatch | Matte Kumar

I like the packaging and the play on words though. Even though this is a sample size it still has a magnetic lock mechanism which I appreciate.

Luxie 215 small angled brush :

The next product I received was a make up tool. A small angled brush.

IMG_0108
Luxie | 215, small angled brush

Its got a glossy baby pink handle with a rose gold barrel. The bristles felt very still to me.

This brush can be used with a gel liner to apply eye liner. Due to the angled tip, the application itself will be very precise and fine.

Might be good for winged eye liner. Remains to be seen.

Trestique | Mini highlight stick in the shade Maldive Luminescent

IMG_0107
Trestique | Mini Highlight Stick

I am not into highlighting but if I were then this shade would work out quite well for me. Check out the cute highlighter heart I made

IMG_0109
Swatch |
Trestique highlight stick

For the moment I am going to use this as a brow bone highlighter with eye shadow. I blended it out and its smudges very easily and has a silky, smooth and shimmery finish.

The last product in my July,2016 Ipsy bag is :

Palmetto Derma|Rejuvenating anti oxidant mask

This product is a face mask and claims to be cruelty free. This mask seems to be a cream based mask and might be better suited to dry skin.

IMG_0114
Swatch | Palmetto Derma mask

I opened it up and as you can see it is cream based and has some sort of a face scrub mixed in it. So I guess it will literally moisturize and exfoliate.

The mask has Kaolin in it so it might be suitable for oily skin as well. And that’s my review.

I hope you enjoyed reading this.Thank you for your time and remember to be kind to yourself ‘coz there’s no one like you.

Please like and share this blog with your loved ones.

Much Love!
